Rajasthan Desert Experience

The
fairs & festivals of Rajasthan reflects the vigour and lifestyle of its
people. Vibrant colors, music and festivities make the golden sands come alive.
Veiled, bejewelled women sing and dance to devotional rhythms. Itinerant bards
render ballads of valour of the heroes of yore. Alongside, brisk trading of
consumer goods, cattle and grain is carried on. Nomadic tribes and traditional
entertainers - minstrels, jugglers, puppeteers and performance come together
at these fairs seeking livelihood. Rajasthan has affair for every religious
occasion, for every change of season and for every harvest. Needless to add,a
visit to this wonderland will leave a lasting spell on your mind.
Rajasthan's magic lies in its rich culture and the veritable treasure troveof
crafts. Despite remaining the home of fierce warrior clans for a long time,
the rulers ofthis desert state are also known to have patronised artists and
craftsmenship, each of these pieces of art have an unsurpassed aura and appeal,
making them a collector's item for the tourists. Besides this Rajasthan craftsmen
seem to accord priority to embellishment with jewellery. It seems more than
appropriate as the Rajashtani women, after having draped the body in brightly
coloured fabrics, dress themselves up from head to toe in jewellery: the rich
choosing the dull flash of gold and some opting for the glint of silver and
the vividness of lac.
